The Mustang GT/CS is designed inside & out by Shelby corp.
No. Shelby has absolutely nothing to do with the GT/CS.

I encourage all CS owners to wear the markings proudly, don't remove the stripes, and if you have a black one, change the striping to silver

I like the black stripe....It's subtle, and I get lots of compliments on it...I doubt I ever do any exterior mods besides the chrome trim I put around the taillights, and I might do the clear corner lights.....

[&:]AMG is a company. they were private and had nothing to do with Mercedes until sometime in the 1990s. AMG specializes in high performance engines, all of them will put to shame most cars in the road. If you think the CS package is like a AMG Mercedes, go and race one, lol.

The original CS was a way to get some "Shelby" into the regular Mustang. Ford copied some of the Shelby items. Thats the 1960's model.

Ford resurrected the model for the S197. The only thing Shelby has to do with this car is he uses the fascias on his Shelby GT as its cheap and available.

I suspect Shelby was talking about the origination of the original CS styling with the 1960's Shelby Mustang.

Their are both "AMG Models" and "AMG Packages".
AMG packages are just appearance, Wheels, and sometimes suspension.
Its kind of like the Roush Sport and Roush StageI versus the Stage III and 428R.

Yeah I know the differences, the one I raced is the CLK55 AMG, with the 5.4 V8 pushing 360 BHP.

Post a link to this stuff you read. I looked at ones you already posted, and they don't say anything like that.

Sorry to re-hash some of this, but I don't believe that Shelby had direct involvement with the current crop of 2007 and 2008 GT/CS. Of note and special interest; here is part of the time line for development of the original 1968 Mustang California Special:

" Dec 67'-Jan '68: Shelby Automotive requested by Ford to develop "California Special." California Mustang gets approval and marketing money (initial order for 6,180 GT/CS parts sets)".

here is a web site for more info on this collector car http://www.californiaspecial.com/

For the 2008 California Special option package at $1895 here's what you get:
* deep air dam / large lower intake front fascia
* air diffuser with integrated dual exhaust rear fascia
* Chrome, rolled dual exhaust tips
* Side scoops
* P235-50 Z rated tires
* 18" polished aluminum 5 spoke wheels
(all of the above are also on the 2008 Shelby GT and the CS
body is used as the cosmetic basis for the 2008 Shelby GT. the
Shelby GT gets a billet grill, the standard Mustang GT
rear badge center cap, 'Powered by Ford' side body
badges, Shelby GT lower body stripes and SHELBY lettering
across the trunk)

Shelby also, of course, modifies and stiffens the suspension and adds
engine and exhaust modifications/tweaks.

* GT/CS fade away mid body side stripes
* California Special rear badge center cap
* Aluminum Mustang badged floor mats and sill plates
* 2 tone leather interior panels and seats
