also, HP was rated differently back then, just so you know...so on your performance times, pry equal....HP is up in the air...you'd hafta dyno them on the same machine, same conditions, etc.

None of you know what you are talking about.. the 67 mustang came with FOUR different v8 engines. Only one of which has 320 hp. That 320hp was rated before the switch to gross HP, so that means it's actual HP number is only 80% or less of 320. Come on guys.

it's ok though, the 65 is probably heavier, older technology, pry nottoo many mods to the motor, and back then, that was kind of an "economy car" compared to the other big boats
wow i had no idea the 390s were rare...was that just in 67? cuz i've heard a lot of older guys talk about their 390 68s

So it is in fact a 289 but I still don't know which model it is. I'll go take a look at the VIN numbers and get the engine code and find out (maybe Monday). Still, based on the difference in HP readings and actual HP from '67 to '05, who do you think would win the HP battle between the two (I guess running off of the stock Mustang GT 289 engine for his '67 and a stock V6 manual for my '05).
Oh and calm down everybody, everybody makes mistakes. No reason to get all upset or get in fights about V6's or anything like that. Just trying to get some opinions on the situation. Everybodychill.
