RE: Water filtration systems
Someone out to get your money..You need to spend your money on some micro fiber towels and sponges instead..
If your living in a Glass Bubble then go ahead andbuy it...
There is Minerals (Dust Particles)all around us.
Mineral dust is a term used to indicate atmospheric aerosols originated from the suspension of minerals constituting the soil, being composed of various oxides and carbonates. Human activities lead to 30% of the dust load in the atmosphere.
My point is simple......Even if you filter the water, what about the dirt thats already on your car that your about to wash off?
[hr]
But then again some of the states with the hardest waters are in streams of Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Arizona, and Southern California....So if you live in one of these states....It might be ok to do after all

RE: Water filtration systems
I use the water softener filter, but not the sediment filter. Attached is a pic of it zip-tied to my hose reel. Using softened water does make a difference as far as making detergents work better and making the water sheet off better leaving fewer spots to contend with when you rinse the car (this is assuming you have hard water in the first place, like I do). In my opinion, it's worth the price if you have hard water.

I wouldnt want to use the softener at all unless you have testing equipment to test the grains of hardness in the water after it has been softened. Softened water depending on the softeness is corrosive. This is why cities that soften water at their water treatment plants blend the softened water withrawwater.

i've been washing my cars for almost twenty years with soft water. no sign of corrosion yet. it makes drying them off really easy. water spots just wipe away if you don't get to them before they dry.

Nothing is wrong with washing a car with soft water as long as the water is not so soft as to be corrosive. Again you have to measure the grains of hardness to know how soft your water is.

I actually bought this a couple weeks ago. It works fine for my well water. My water had more sediments than hardness, but my Honda's paint got ruined without treating the water. I have been washing the Mustang at the DIY car wash ever since I got it but I was getting tired of that. I say buy it if you have well water. If not, then a softener only will be fine.
