I am not into the single din in a double din. Looks out of place. Pioneer makes that new Double Din that looks right at home if you aren't looking for a NAV unit...

But if you are looking to stay in the $99.99 price range then Crutcfield is the place to go since they will give you everything that is required for free...

well im either deciding to stay with the current head unit and adding a aux cable, adding subs, or changing speakers. which should be done first since i dont have money right away to do it all at once.

any recommendations also would be greatly appreciated

dont do it!!! it should work, but imho, the stock head unit is better than that. save your cash and get an avic unit or the ford factory nav unit.

just my 2 cents...

This radio would be my recommendation. I just recently installed it. It's more expensive than what you were looking at, but it looks factory, it has USB and iPod integration, HD radio ready, built-in bluetooth, etc... It sounds fantastic (I almost feel like I added a 200w 10" sub).

As to your question about the din to double-din adapter, Crutchfield includes that when you order from them. But honestly, as at home as this thing looks, there's no choice about it if you're not wanting navigation or DVD.
