RE: Is my Ford dealer correct on 25 HP increase?
you could get about a 100hp increase if you went online and got a CIA+tuner combo about $600 and then get the axel backs yourself, Flowmasters or borla I would recomend.
$1200 from a dealer for $300 in parts is way to much..
the tuner is going to give you the biggest HP increase, the intake and excughst will help.. but you will not see any differnce without a tune.

A 100hp increase? Are you smoking the same thing the guy at the dealer is?
I put down 260 rwhp stock on a dynojet in Florida weather. I than put down 290 rwhp with a VMP 93 octane tune, C&L intake with 88mm maf tube, and muffler deletes. So a 30 rwhp increase for a tune and intake.

87 octane
Stock 05 = 300 bhp
Stock 07 = 306 bhp (No carbon trap)
93 octane
Stock 07 = 310 bhp (270 rwhp)
07 + Axle back = 313 bhp (273 rwhp)
07 + No Tune CAI = 323-328 bhp (284 rwhp)
All else being equal your going to see about 15 bhp.
Thats about what you can expect. Tell the dealer you will pay for a before and after run on a dynojet and if it doesnt give his claimed power you dont pay and watch him backpedal.
My guess is it was supposed to be 25 bhp and they didnt do a before and after test of the car.
They got 276 rwhp on a dynojet and went 276/0.85 (to estimate crank bhp) = 325 bhp.
The problem is stock manual trans cars usually do 260-275 rwhp.
To put a 25% claim into perspective a Roush Supercharger only adds 35% (from actual before and after dyno)to a car.

Have you really seen a stock Mustang dyno 275 rwhp? The most I've ever seen is 267 rwhp and everyone was amazed at that.

Ive seen one car do 275 rwhp.Pefect oil/water temps most likely. I dont believe in factory freaks.
They do about 4-5 rwhp less on 87 octane. Autos of course will be 10-15 rwhp less.

I really don't believe in factory freaks either. It's all in conditions. Dynos aren't ever going to say the same thing on different days. The only thing to truely effect numbers other than conditions are going to be what factory PCM code you've got. Some are more or less conservative than the others. I've pulled more HP one day with less mods than the next. Go figure.
