Default Question about HID kits.

I'm fixing to order some black out covers for my 07 Stang, and I had a question. Since I'm a 6'er, and have no fogs(currently, will be adding some in the future), would a 8K HID kit be bright enough to see at night with the covers? If not, I'll just wait till I get my fogs.

Thanks

Default RE: Question about HID kits.

i would get the 6000k kit if you are worried about the light output. OEM HIDs in projectors run at 4300K, which is pure white and the projector gives it that blueish look. in terms of aftermarket HIDS, 6000K has that white/blue tint. it gives off the most light while having that blue tint. aftermarket 4300K HIDS will give off the most light period, but they will be pure white. and 8000K is blue/purpleish, little too much if you ask me.

hope that helps.

i ran 6000K HIDs on my 2004 for a few weeks, it def gave off enough light to see well at night. kinda spotty tho.

I was looking at a 8000k kit, but if the 6000k will give off more light with my blacked out headlights, I'll do that. Thanks!

all depends on what color you want them, and what you are looking for. the blackout might hurt you, not sure tho. either way, they HIDs will put out more light then the stock bulbs.

4300K kits put out the most light. 6000K kits aren't too bad though. I'm just not doing them in my car, it seems like everyone has a problem with them on these cars.
