OK, so I have always had a cold gear grind going into third if I shift too fast. I have kinda accepted it and babied it. I installed a Steda Tri-AX and still have the same issue, only it seems to do it for a longer peiod of time. I have even grinded it when not cold a few times, but I have tried to shift way too fast I figure. Anways, could the new shifter have made the problem worse? It kinda concerns me since it is not cold outside anymore and I still have to drive the car easy going into third when I start out. I instlled the tri-ax correctly and double checked everything. Also, should I have the dealership look at it. It seems to be a common issue.

the engine torqs itself under load....you need torq limiters and/or engine mounts. this is a common and known issue

Do you try to guide the shifter on the 2-3 shift? The Tri-Ax has less slop and will cause more issues with this.
Weight the shifter from the lower left rear corner with just the V at the bottom of your palm and let it find its own way into third.
Their should be no fingers or thumb on the **** during this shift.

As to cold grind my car has done this since new and I have to pause in neutral like Im double clutching before going into 3rd to ensure a grind free shift. Once it warms up I dont have an issue. Since the car is fautless on warm powershifts (with proper tecnique) I have not wanted to do anything that might disturb this.
