Default Dead spot @ 3k rpm

07 GT, 5 speed.

I seem to have a dead spot at exactly 3000 rpm.
The car gets to that point, kind jerks and continues on every time. I've tried holding it right at 3k you can feel the drop off in acceleration.
Happens stock and with the Brenspeed xcal2 tune. The only mod that might cause this is flowmaster AT mufflers.
Seems to be worse the colder it is. [:@]

Any thoughts?

I know when im going wot, from 0-3k rpm its not pulling nearly as hard as after 3k. I need 4.10's to eliminate this.

Good point but I think a misfire would throw an error code? I don't see any and the xcal isn't finding them.
She runs fine, and pulls great, just a momentary loss of power at the 3k point.
Very strange.

I going to send an email to Brenspeed and see what they say.
If I get an answer I'll post it up for reference in case anyone else has seen this.

Thanks, appreciate the posts.

misfires won't always throw error codes... i had a stumbly idle and it turns out a spark plug was very very loose due to me doing a bad job installing them. It was backing out of the hole and making a big ticking noise, and I was stumbling sitting at red lights. Never got an engine light.

Did you recently have your spark plugs out? Check them if you did.

That is generally the transition point for the CMCV plates.I've felt the pull after 3k in all 3 of my S197 stangs.

Plugs are all original, no replacement.
One thing does come to mind is that during the accident I had last year, the engine and tranny were out of the car so the front end could be rebuilt.
Wonder if that had anything to do with it?

Good suggestions all, thanks!

..Throttle posistion Sensor can have a dead spot because its a potentiometer this would cause similar problems to what your talking about. There is also a misfire monitor that you could read if you had the scan tool.
