well, just went out to the car and inspected. The damn OEM mirror just slid off without any tools whatsoever. Maybe they made them different in early 05 ??? Either way, BIG relief now I can install my Gentex mirror this weekend in peace.

I found the Mirror that comes with the mustangs....It simply plugs into an extra connector located in the Dome for the map lights....here is the pic

Its not completely the same but pretty close, I know i have go thru 2 mirrors and each required bascially the same thing as this link......not plug in play at all

I feeeeeel your pain...not that I broke a windshield, but I was detailing my 2004 Expedition one day and left the lift-gate glass opened.....and sure enough...drove the doggone truck inside my garage and wham! [:@]
Why did I not realized I had left the thing in the open position is a mistery I'll never solve...my wife called it...stupidity...I agree...
Anyway, $900 + $50 (for the install) and got the back window replaced....by the way, that thing broke in 1 million pieces...to this day, almost 1 year later I still find small pieces of broken glass everytime I vacuum inside[:-].
And no...I did not call the insurance...$500 deductible here...[&:]
Why did I not realized I had left the thing in the open position is a mistery I'll never solve...my wife called it...stupidity...I agree...

Makes the wiring easier. I'vespliced the stock harness in with the one that came with the mirror. Will look completely stock when done. Uses the connector in the dome light and everything.
