Default One Touch Convertible Top Review

Installed the new Web-Electric One Touch Convertible Top Module today, and I am very very happy with it.

$49.95
http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm

It makes a huge difference not only in convenience, but also in time. The top now opens in about 9-10 seconds (OEM it took 16-17 seconds). This is mostly due to the programming where the windows nowgo down simultaneously as the convertible top instead of windows-first, then top-second. I think the top travels quicker now too. This allows for seatbelt, radio adjusting, etcand then GO! Plus, I can see this coming in very handy at stoplights where that 6-7 seconds could be all the difference. Cool factor also elevated!

The install was very easy, although I recommend buying a few high quality butt crimp connectors instead of using the quick-splice pieces that comes in the kit. I'm not a big fan of the quick-splices.

A quick story... I couldn't get the one-touch close function to program correctly, so I sent web-electrics an email tonight. Well, about 6 emails back and forth later (all within 20 minutes), I found out I wasn't pressing the buttons quick enough to program the top. It works perfect now but I was blown away with the service provided after 10pm on a Saturday night.

This company and this kit comes highly recommend by this customer.

Thank you Web-Electric !

So, instead of windows first, then top, they all go down at the same time? Pretty nifty.

Thanks for the review. It and their auto-down rear windows are my next planned mods.

Looks cool.

Did you have any trouble starting your car after this install?

What all comes in the hit. How does it know it's all the way or or down?

exx1976... you should go on tour with that humor![8D]

Install was about an hour, but I took my sweet time and I was already a bit exhausted from installing my gentex mirror and meter4it chase kit. The hour included realizing how cheap the quick splice units that came in the kit were and a 10 minute run to Lowe's for new ones.

The kit comes with the module, a few quick-splice units (junk) and a few zip ties. Thats it.

All connections are made at the Smart Junction Box is the passenger kick panel. Make sure you have good lighting so you can pick out the right wires. Some are difficult to distringuish from each other.

Once all connections are made, you have to program the top to tell the module how far up and how far down to travel before shutting down the top motor. Programming is simple and requires simply pressing the DOWN button 6 times and then the 7th time holding it until the top is all the way down. Same for going UP. Very simple.

Sweet !

Isthere a decreased time delaybetween the windows cracking and the roof moving now or does it all move off at the same time?
