Open the passengers side door and look at the area where the
rubber grommet/wire tube comes from the door and enters the
cabin. Check that area for correct complete seal installation.
Its double body wall tll have to be checked there and it will
have to be checked from the outside for proper installation
and sealing. Mine was dislodged and could have been partially
leaking there. I used some mastic tape to 100% seal her there
but the leak still persists. Seems like there are lots of possabilities
of leaks locations, but I have yet to find the one thats actually leaking.
Try covering up the cabin exhaust vents in the trunk and using the
"pressurize the cabin to find the leak" technique outlined in the LEAK TSB..
Thanks - I'll do that. I did take a quick look at it the other day, but I need to take a good look and maybe trying soaking it and watch for leaks. as far as the pressurizing thing, I may do that as a last resort, but i figure if it leaks without pressurizing it in the rain, thenI should be able to find the leak without pressurizing. I'm hoping that with the kick panel off, the rug pulled up, and the rags in place, if it leaks I'll actually be able to SEE it happen and locate at least whether it's from above, below, etc and take it from there.

I guess you have never mapped underground rivers in caves....
I mean how hard can that be. Point A to point B....
LOL - you're right, never have. But I'm hoping this will be a bit less complicated. And I'm sure that most Ford service techs haven't mapped underground rivers either.

The pressurizingmethod forces air out the leaks and
soapy water is used from outside to find them. Not by pressurizing
the cabin then dousing the vehicle with a garden hose looking
for water inside.
By theory, it would never leak into a pressurized cabin. Hmmmm....

Most Ford Techs dont fix water leaks either. They leave that to the offsite,
have vehicle, will travel, water leak finding companies.

I have the same problem, I will work on it this weekend and see if I can find the problem. I will check the areas mentioned on this thread.

No significant rain here since last post. Well, none that I was driving in anyway. Plus, we're adding onto our house, so I haven't had any time to mess with it. I'm driving around with the kick panel trim offand the glovebox out just hoping for a hard rain. I'm planning to do more garden hose testing whenI get a free day in the next week or two. Will post again then. I did pull the A-pillar trim recently to see what path the water would take into the car from that area (mentioned in the TSB). I'm gonna garden hose the hell out of that area.

They're calling for rain here tomorrow - fingers crossed.
