Default S197 owners and their audio setups

I was just wondering what all of you S197 owners did about the small subs in the front and as far as speaker selection?

I have the stock shaker 500 system which I replaced w/ my alpine IVA-D310 head unit dvd. I have a sub in the rear with a custom enclosure. I am looking to replace my speakers and those crappy subs that can't really handle too much. I'm not into the deafening bass but would like to have a system that crisp, tight, clear on mids/lows/highs and can handle just about anything I throw at it.

My last car had great sound quality with polk audio speakers and alpine subs. I was thinking about going with the same for my speakers this time around as well.

The number one thing I am looking at though is what to do about the smallsubs in the front. What have you all done about those specifically?

What sizes did you guys fit in the car for the speakers? Where did youbuy your gear from? I usually order from Crutchfield.

I didn't want to post this in the audio/visual section since it is more specifically for the s197 guys.

Default RE: S197 owners and their audio setups

you can buy an adapter for your aftermarket headunit to allow the front subs to work. i personally didnt hook them back up b/c i have two alpine type-R's in the trunk. As far as door speakers, i went with 6x8 pioneers all the way around...our cars will fit 5x7 or 6x8. whichever you buy will work and the speakers should come with a mounting bracket to mount up accordingly.

The subenclosurein my trunkis temporary though...i took out my spare tire and am currently in the process of building a fiberglass display for the amp and cap to sit in that empty space. I am also building quazi-stealthbox enclosures for the type-R's to mount in the cubby holes in each side of the trunk so i can have the rest of my trunk open (possible mouting space for Zex Kit)
