I am incredibly obessive about having my car clean so for that reason I wax it almost every weekend. I have heard lots of opinions on this, but will waxing as often as I do cause my paint to fade or anything? I know this is a dumb question....how often do you guys wax?

I don't think you should worry about waxing the paint off!

One thing, though, everytime you wax the car you increase in the chances of picking up unsightly swirl marks.

My daily driver is waxed every 2 or 3 months, since it sits outside under the car port. The Mustang is driven about 100 or 200 miles per month and mostly sits in the garage. I think I've drive the Ford about 400 or 500 miles this year. I wax it about once a year.

I've had it for over 2 years, put 9,000 miles on it and don't have any swirl marks, probably because it never gets dirty!

It will make a build up and that's not good. It's fine if you have it color sanded after you wax a couple times. But if you don't color sand your are just creating a waxy build up, can't remember what else can happen but it's not something that you want.

I don't think the wax is gonna hurt anything but at one point, you'll have a hell of a build up.
So you'll be waxing wax...

Just get Meguires quick detailer to polish it up. Dust the car and then spray it down, wipe it off. My black GT just glistens. I do it before each time I drive it. When the Quick Detailer is hard to remove, time to wax. Easy as that!
