Brought my 07 V6 mustang back to the dealer today so they could fix the release lever on the top of my driver side seat. Soon as I pull into the dealership my check engine light came on.

I'm just curious, about 2 months ago I swapped my stock muffler for a GT takeoff, could that have caused the light?

I also had my oil changed yesterday and put some gas in my car, does that have a higher probability of causing the Check Engine light?

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nope, the muffler shouldn't pull a check engine light.

GT muffler will not cause a CEL

Loose gas cap may. When I fill my car I notice that sometimes the gas cap gets bound up by the tether strap.

What DTC did the PCM set?
Its not the GT take-off causing the "check engine" light.
You really need to check the engine like it suggests.
Not feeling up to it or have the tools needed, its stealership
time for you.
Tell us what DTC got set and we will go from there.

No the muffler will not cause a CEL. Think about it, the muffler is after the 02 sensors. Nothing has changed to the cars computer. The exhaust flows better but the car doesn't really know that. I've had one on my girlfriend's car. Justin at VMPTuning has stock GT mufflers on his wife's car with no problems.

The oil change and/or gas fill up have a much higher chance. Check your gas cap.
