Default Ebay Cold air intake the same as K&N?

I'm checking out Cold Air Intakes on ebay, and came across this one. How does this compare to the KN intake? You can't beat this price... If the filter is bunk, then I guess I could just purchase a KN filter and pop it on?

I wouldn't even try it. The engine on these cars is so exact nowadays...You'll be lucky if the car even runs.

Yeah, my guess is that you wouldn't notice any power gains from that thing. Your factory intake is most likely better. If I were you I would save up for a good intake with a well known reputable name.

Walk away, that intake is rubbish. You'll get what you pay for. If you don't have alot of money, look around the FS/FT section here and wait till someone sells a JLT or C&L used. I bought mine for like $140 shipped, and I've seen them sell for even less before.

You might as well buy a K&N panel filter.

Hmm, I agree... After spending 400$ per rear tire I'm a little hesitant to spend 300 on an intake.. But a k&n is probably the best way to go..

If your not going to be tuning it, yes a K&N is probably the best you're going to get. If your going to be tuning, then go with something like a C&L, Steeda, JLT.

guys are funny. i looked at the K&N Typhoon intakes for a couple hundred dollars and then bought a "bombz racing" (a.k.a. ebay) CAI for less than 100 bucks shipped. the polished aluminum piping looked great, it came with a heat shield that fit with no problems, and all the hardware needed for the install. I really couldnt say anything bad about the intake if i tried.

Now, will it perform as well as a C&L or a JLT intake? no, which btw uses a larger MAF housing and requires a retune where this intake was a direct bolt on so the comparison isnt even really fair.

will it perform as good as the intake which is was modeled after? i'd say hell yes it would.

btw OP, i'll have mine up for sale soon since i just upgraded to a JLT II (for power, not quality reasons) with my uncle sam money [8D]
