Default K&N Aircharger Generation II FIPK???

I read that this air intake makes 15HP without a tune right from the K&N website? Anyone have this? Is it true? Can this harm the engine in any way? Can it lean out? Thanks alot, Jord

I'm not sure if it makes 15HP, but I have one on my
Stang and have had no problems with it. You do not
need to have a tune for the K&N.

Although some manufacturers claim a tune isn't needed, the few tuners I've talked to recommend always getting a tune when going with a CAI. They claim they've seen some of the "tuneless" CAI's running pretty lean. Just throwing that out there.

No thanks, get the C&L with 88mm maf tube or the JLT.

I have this model on my GT, I did have my tuner upgraded to include it in the CAI choices. If you dont want to tune it, an option I saw on another GT was a K & N filter in the stock box and he then used a jig saw to cut out the front of the box. Guess it works fine.

I'd get a custom tuned Xcal2 from VMP Tuning with a C&L CAI with 88mm maf tube. I LOVE MINE !!
