Default intake cover hitting hood

Hi, my dad just bought a 2008 Mustang GT about 4 months ago and he just put an aftermarket throttlebody and cold air intake on his stang. After he got everything back together, he realized that the chrome horse on his intake cover was scratched and that the bottom of his hood had an area worn on it that matched the horse.

Has anyone else run into this problem? He was told that Ford put lower profile hoods on the 08 Mustangs. Thanks.

Yea same problem. I just notice them today, they look like fine scratches on the pony emblem.

What kind of cold air intake is it? I'm running the C&L intake with zero issues.

Take off the hood liner. It only serves as a fire blanket and actually traps a lot of heat under the hood. Besides if mine starts on fire I want it all to burn.

It's been about a year since I had an intake cover, but I think if I remember right, if you take the bolts out of the sides and mount the cover under the bolts it will free up a little over an 1/8 to 3/16 of clearance. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.
