Default Vert top not going all the way down.

I haven't put the top down in a few weeks. So, when I put the top down today, I noticed the driver side isn't going all the way down. I have to physically push the top down. It seems very loose.

When I drive off though, it raises back up a few inches to the point I can't see behind me. I'll take pictures here in a few minutes.

My question: What's the warranty on the top? It's an 07', and I was going to swing it by Ford tomorrow and have them look at it. Is there anything I can do to correct this myself?

Couple before and after pictures.

BEFORE

AFTER

Not the best AFTER pictures, but you get the idea. Before, the top went down past the seats, now it doesn't go past the seats at all. I took a video as well, and when the top comes up, it makes this loud popping noise.

What the warranty on the convertible top?

The passenger door glass tore my top near the stitching on the outside and the dealer replaced the top under warranty due to a mechanical problem with the door glass........which they cannot figure out.

Raise it 1/2 way and ensure there's nothing back there in the way. If there's nothing, then do a visual to ensure all the pillars and stuff are stright. If nothing there, take to dealer.

I never had that problem with mine 06 but there is not that much to them.TPony has a good idea take a good look inside; it sounds like something is obstructing the top or maybe something in the top itself has slipped out of place. Good Luck.

My 08 had a similar problem...except it was when i was putting the top up. THe passengers side seemed like it wasnt going up all the way and I was having a helluva time latching it. THen I noticed that there was about a half inch gap between the rear window and door window. I noticed that the top was interfering with the window going up and had to tuck it all back down in hte back end of the car again. I was lucky to notice it, as it was really starting to rain and I would have gotten the interior soaked

Took it by the dealership, they had it fixed in less than 10 minutes...

Turns out, there was a....

football

stuck underneath the top, preventing it from going down. Man, was that embarrasing. The guys in the shop had a good laugh at that one.

man, I wish I could have been there for that reveal. "sir, we found the problem. there was a freaking football under there! very common problem. i believe Ford is issuing a TSB for it next week." [8D]
