Default 990 horses.

My friend and I were talking and he said he saw an 07 mustang GT that claimed to have 990+ HP.

Is this possible? What mods, tehehe[8D]

You need a huge Stable[8D].

Hell yeah it's possible. Ask John Force.
For a daily driver with A/C etc... you start to struggle around 700/800 HP according to the norm.

990 hp is very, very possible.

my friend had 1190 with a procharger F1-R on a Sean Hyland built motor. of course, he had all the mods to support it, built tranny, built rear. oddly, it was still running stock exhaust. you'd never know the car had this much hp, if you didn't hear the blower and if he didn't step on it. it also had MT/et streets on it.

twin turbos can probably generate even higher numbers. you probably need billet or even titanium internals, and a fortified motor. its very possible though.

Yes - but as pointed out for a daily driver, there is no one I know of who has breached 900 successfully.
