Default STEEDA DEAD PEDAL INSTALL ?

When installing the Steeda dead pedal there are 2 existing bolts you can mount the bracket to one closer to the driver and a second one back further towards firewall. Which one does the plate mount to. The plate does not fit well on the one near the fire wall, but this seems to be the more logical position for the pedal? Any body help.
thanks, Ed

I used the bolt closest to the driver.
I just installed Steeda dead pedal in my 06 GT yesterday. I followed the instructions that came with it and used the bolt closest to the driver because it looked like the picture on the instructions to me, plus I did not think I was going to make that second bolt work.
I test drove it after and it feels fine.

I am pretty sure you use the back bolt. I will have to check but that is what I think I used. It works fine, it just wasn't designed very well I think and mine sits against the carpet really, REALLY closely.

I did this Friday. You will get the most natural position by using the the back bolt, closest to firewall. At first I too thought there might not be enough room, but there is. The bolt turned REALLY hard in both directions.

I had to make a small cut in the carpet (right under the bottom left-hand corner of the pedal/mount) to get it to lay right under the pedal, now it lays smooth

You guys are right. Mine is an automatic so I did not notice the error right away. Today I drove it in the highway and my ankle position felt so awkard that I realized that I have to move it back.
Sorry Grabber08GT for the wrong info.
It's got to be the back bolt.

I hada GT500 dead pedalon my 06' and it was in the back bolt. It seemed like a really natural place to put your foot. I have one ordered for my 08'.

I don't even recall two bolts so it must have been the "back bolt. However, I found that I had to pull up the carpet and the styrofoam factory "dead pedal" and trim the dead pedal at the bottom so the Steeda would fit properly. I didn't have to cut the carpet like jlaurens06gt, but without trimming the styrofoam the carpet wouldn't fit back in place.
