RE: 2008 Bullitt spare tire (or lack of...)

i havent had a flat on my personal car in 5+ years are you guys driving in construction sites or something? im not going to bother carrying that spare around

will the 17" spare from the 94 thru04 cobra fit on the 08 bullitt?

Tylus 10-25-2009 01:47 PM

no idea

didn't realize this thread was 1.5 yrs old.

thought I'd mention something else that people haven't mentioned. When you use that Gel Sealant it ruins the TPMS in that rim.

So not only do you have to pay the extra $$$ to get the sealant removed from that tire since Tire Shops hate that crap. You then have to buy another TPMS sensor to replace the one you just ruined.

So a flat tire can run you anywhere from $50-150. This inflating crap sucks. I'm actively searching for a spare myself right now. I won't be caught on the side of the road with a stupid flat.

It may be a performance tire, but I drive mine Daily and I can't be sidelined by something as trvial as a flat tire

I am with you. I would rather change my own than be stuck on the side of the road. You can find a lot of 17" donut spares on ebay, I am just not sure if it will interfer with the brakes. I was hoping someone on the forum had already done what we are trying to do.

Tylus 10-25-2009 06:31 PM

the Bullitt has the exact braking setup as a 05-09 GT

we have different front disc pads, but the same calipers.

so if you get a 17" donut, you are good to go. just make sure the spare came out of a GT. I think only the V-6 cars came with 16" rims...which might work, but will likely cause issues.

If I still lived in Seattle I'd already have a spare. Shipping out here to Hawaii is crazy, so I'm limited to Craigslist unfortunately

and are we (well not me, but some of you) SO pussified that we have to rely on AAA to save us? are we not men? red blooded american men who drive american muscle cars???? adjust your sack, get your hands dirty, and change your own friggen tires!!!!!!!!

YEAH, what he said!!!

rmann 10-25-2009 10:41 PM

Thanks for the input. I found a bunch of spares for 94 to 04. I have not found one yet for 05 up. Is there any place in Hawaii to open that thing up?

Tylus 10-26-2009 12:52 AM

nothing out here to open her up...and it's a felony to go +30 over the speed limit...or over 80 MPH period.

so I get to the speed limit extremely quickly and then shut it down
