2005-2008 Functional side scoops...anbody???
Hey, I'm trying to find out if anyone has gone to the trouble to make their side scoops functional on the 2005-2008 body? I'm about to install a set of Cervinis window and lower scoops and was just curious if the trouble was worth it if anyone has done that? I believe the lower scoop at one time directed air to cool the rear brakes??? I don't know if the window scoop was ever functional or not. Just curious before I stick these things on.

I don't know how affective it would really be since the front brakes do most of the work not to mention it'll cost a few bones to get the job done right. You'd probably be better off just getting a BBK if you want to improve braking, it would probably be cheaper too

Galpin put them on the Red Thunder Mustang that made the cover of the June Mustang Enthusiast mag.

Unless you want to make a duplicate of a race car, it's totally a waste of time and money.
The rear brakes on a street car are not even close to overheat, even if you drive like a maniac!!
In any case, the front ones will fail before the rear ones.
You will also fail before the brakes... cops, wrecks etc...
This car here, is a Ford factory built race car, that won the Euro GT4 class last year against the best Europe has to offer: Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, BMW etc...
Mustang FR500C FTMFW! Litteraly!
It has stock rear brakes with just a good set of pads, period (the front is a different story)
It does also endurance racing, 12/24 hour races on the same set-up!
For those of you out there that spend a lot of money on rear brakes.... either you ********** too much, or you're doing it for looks. Nothing wrong with either reasons.
