are Drilled / Slotted Rotors Supposed to make noise?
along with the 4 new tires i just put on, i also just installed 4 new drilled and slotted rotors owith hawk hps pads. i burnished them in according to the directions, and have used them for a few days now to make sure everything is broke in accordingly.
well i have noticed that under medium to heavy braking i hear them, like a grumbling rumbling sound. not quite like when brakes are gouging and grinding but thats the closest sound i can think of. i've inspected them and they look fine. are the pads or these type of rotors normally louder?
also, (and this kinda freaked me out) i had to do some rather heavy braking from around 90 or so and the car seemed like it wanted to pull one way and then another, back and forth sorta. it made me feel like if it were a lesser person driving *cough* my wife *cough* that loss of control could have happened. wtf?

Give it a couple hundred miles, but the drilled and slotted will emit more noise due the air escaping from the holes and such. It shouldnt be that bad though

but they DO do it when you slam on them, unlike the stock pads?!?!?

Hmm. Weird. I'd just make sure everything is installed correctly and see if it gets better. How hard is it to install brakes on these cars? Easy? I want to order a set of the rotors that everyone was buying for $200, anyone got a link to those?

I made a post a week or so about the same thing with mine. I have the noise you described, but not the back and forth motion you mentioned. Im thinking the noise is normal. About 500 miles on the rotors.
Currently have the Stock pads on the front. I swap HP+'s for the track, and back to stock.

I had that when my stock brakes overheated, which was usually reversing out the garage. Maybe I had a bad batch of pads, but man were they junk. One stop and they would start audibly groaning and the braking force massively compromised.
Perhaps you're having to mash the pedal more than normal because the rotors/pads are breaking in still and they are getting Hot as a result. You should take it easy on new brakes for a while to bed them in.
