"Clunking" noise when shifting from 1-2??
Hey all, I found a few posts "sort" of relating to this...but basically, whenever I start my car when it's been sitting for a while (like several hours), I back out of a spot, put it into 1st and drive up to like 3000 rpms or higher. When I put the clutch in at thsi point, I hear this awful clunking noise, like the tranny is dropping or something weird...but the noise seems to be coming mostly from the exhaust. I noticed it before I put the FRPP exhaust on, but with the new exhaust its even more audible. Anyone know what's going on?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Is there any way to get rid of this? It might be my imagination or something, but whenever I let the car run for a while, or hit the gas a few times while backing up, it doesn't seem to make the noise when I put the clutch in.

I think it's a part ofa technique of engaging-disengaging the clutch. When the engine is pulling (under load) and you engage the clutch, you get the clunk. Maybe it's because when the engine is cold, the RPM's don't drop as fast so when you release the gas and step on the clutch, the engine is still pulling.
BTW, I don't call my GT 'the Clunker' for no reason...
