I know this to be true for 05/06.
I could be wrong for the later years then.

I have a feeling they installed the wrong gears.. i have a 08 GT with stock 3.31 and a o7 V6 with 3.55.. I can tell a huge differance, the 3.55 want to just take off in the v6 even in 4th gear. The GT seems to take a couple sec to get up to speed casue of the gear differance.. there should be a easy way to tell what gears they put in.

Contact Ford and tell them of the issue, I am sure they will have something to say to the dealership about it.
If that doesn't work you can try to contact your local news station watchdog group, maybe they will do something.
If that doesn't work your only recourse is to never buy another Ford again.

Take it back to the same dealership. Tell them to pop off the cover and confirm that the correct gears are installed (should have "3.55" embossed on the ring gear). Have them physically show it to you. Tell them this: If they are right, then you pay for the labor to check. If they installed the wrong gears, they repair it on their dime.

It was an option for me on my 08 for 3.55's or 3.31's. I chose the 3.55's and Ive ridden in the 3.31's and it is defiently a noticable difference. I would have taken the stang back as soon as I noticed that. Buy some 4.10's and have them install em!!

In addition to feeling slower the higher gearing without flashing the PCM will shows your speed wrong. It will shows 60mph but you will actually be going about 50mph... That's going to make it feel much slower, i know it seems weird because the acceleration will tick off better, but it will slow down.

if the dealer installed 331's instead of 355's, your speedo would show you going slower than what you'e actually going. you'd be going like 60 instead of the speedo reading of 55, or something like that. i have a 5m 07gt with 331's and there's not the lack of accleration you're talking about. not to disagree with the previous poster, but a higher numerical gear (for example 410's) will make the speedo run faster than what you're actually traveling, and acceleration would be improved.

a higher numerical gear ratio = greater engine speed for a particular actual speed, making the speedo think you're going faster than what you are

a lower numerical ratio = lower engine speed for a particular actual speed, making the speedo think you're going slower than actual

X2. Just get them to verify it for you.

My first guess would be that you have 3.31s installed now instead of 3.55. Other than that i dont know

I have the 3:31 gears and mine accelerates like a bat out of hell in passing gear (both in 3rd and in 4th), so I doubt if that's the cause of his problem.
