S/C and Nitrous?

RE: S/C and Nitrous?
dont know of many s197's running this, but i do know some terminators and earlier GT's running SC'ers and N2O. so i would think it would work on the s197's, as long as it's tuned good, and the supporting engine upgrades of course.

If you have a block that can hold the extra power then its no problem, just have to be sure its tuned correctly. I have 600+ to the wheels which is by ways of a new block with all forged internals and 18lbs of boost thru a whipple going in my car as we speak. I also have a nitrous set up going in also which I will change out the jets from time to time anywhere from 50 to 150 shot and this motor is built to hold it. Just be sure you have the correct tuning and the motor to hold it and you will be fine.

its all in the tune. I dont think its needed for Twin Screw cars because its easier to add more boost and run race fuel then run N20.
But for centrifugal guys they like to use it to pull there torque curve to the sky. I plan on doing a 50 shot with a 110 octane tune for the track only. I wont use it on the street but only the track to see if I can get my torque to reach 650-700ish.

I'd say it's ok. If you go the twinscrew route though you might want to have the n2o come in later on in the rpm range or maybe in a different gear than first to that you can launch well (if you are on street tires or some drag radials, but with slicks and a good set of beadlocks it won't really matter). Make sure that everything is tuned correctly and your motor can handle that instant torque form the n2o entering the engine...

There's a guy around here running a Paxton + an NOS system. He's on the stock motor. It's really a show car not a track car and he told me the nitrous is just a 30 shot and really there more for the wow factor at shows than for the boost in performance. His car really is beautiful, Roush body kit and seats, custom paint, chrome pieces, alot of dress up stuff, eat-off-the-engine clean, etc. He claims about 480 or so to the wheels and I tend to believe him. It was tuned at Mustang Magic here on LI. BTW, the last i saw the car was for sale, asking 45K.
