HELP! New head unit...

So im getting a new head unit, and ditching the shaker 500 , theres no getting around it
IT SUCKS!

Anyway, i've narrowed down the search to this.

http://www.audiosavings.com/product_...c-c834e2e974d2

Anyone have any knowledge, is it a good choice?

Now for a few questions (and yes i've read the stickies i just want to make sure)

I understand I will need the right harness which i can find at crutchfield... Anyone know the product number or code? And from what ive read i will needa y connection toconnect the left and right pre amp outs into the mono input for the shaker.

Do i also need a voltage regulator for the shaker door subs? it says its 4v pre amp outs, does that mean I will still get a POP when they start up?

Anything else i need to know?

Thanks in advance.

If you are going through the trouble to change, you might want to consider a DVD/NAV unit like Kenwood DNX5120. Thats what I bought this weekend.

Yeah, I dont know what everyones gripe is. I had my Shaker 500 and never had any issues at all with it. Never skipped or anything. I did, however, install my Avic-D3 this weekend and loooove it!

That's a good choice. If you don't want DVD/Navigation, it's the perfect headunit (especially if you have MyColor gauges). I installed that one myself about 2 months ago. You will need the wiring harness adapter and antenna adapter, and a 5v regulator from radio shack. Some people need the y adapter, some don't. Might as well pick it up. Otherwise, sounds like you've got it all figured out.
