I need to find the low side of the ac port to charge the system. I think it may be low because when the AC is turned on max it has a very faint whining sound. Please help.

hope you have a set of guages, the system being low wouldnt cause it to make any noises. it would cool poorly or not at all. sounds like the noise is being caused by the mode and blend doors in the hvac assembly. if its cooling properly you dont need refrigerant.

Mode and blend doors? What do you mean? The whining sound comes from the engine bay but only when the AC is turned on. The compressor is not ticking and shes cooling well. What could it be? It almost sounds like an ambulance siren FAR FAR away, not very audible but just enough to notice.

Sounds like the beginning of an air compressor bearing going out if you ask me....

the mode doors direct the air to the outlets and the blend doors adjust the temp of the air. does it change with blower fan speed or engine speed?

It does change with engine speed. Not sure about blower fan speed.

i agree wth andretti, sounds like a bearing in the compressor
