Hurst shifter and Rattling noise

RE: Hurst shifter and Rattling noise
Although my Mustang is auto, this post sounded familiar with the Hurst rattling issue. I know its different obviously, but when I had my C5 Vette, this problem happened to with the Hurst shifters. There were alot of "home" remedies. Sometimes the problem was the shifter ball, and guys would put alot of teflon tape on the threads then screw the ball on, it would work, or underneath the shifter, they would put a rubber 1 1/2" "Fernco" type cap (the kind used for capping the end of a pvc pipe ) and put the shifter over it with an x cuts in the center for the shifter to go through, probably the same type of fix with the washers. But the ball might be worth doing, just a though!

RE: Hurst shifter and Rattling noise
I use copper washers on each end of the chrome handle (aluminum will work too)
I also put a nut on the other side of the bolts. There is enough thread sticking out.
Everything is tight and stay tight ( another common problem with Hurst, handle gets loose).
Not a vibration to date.
