How to rev with hood up?

How to rev with hood up?
Where is the latch thing to rev up the engine when you have your hood popped? Do our cars even have one? Thanks!

I would assume (I also could be way off) but since our cars are "drive by wire" ie; electronic throttle control instead of a traditional throttle cable that you probably wouldnt see anything like the old days where you could push where the cable meets the engine and rev.
Unless the designers thought of this and made a bypass to do just this, but I doubt it.

Yeah, because of the drive by wire, there's no cable, thus no lever. If there was one, it'd be on the right side of the throttle body, where the electronics that control fuel delivery are.
