I have a 4 year old and a 11 month old.. I have absolutely no problems hauling the kids and their stuff (lots of it) on the 80 mile trip to grandmas. Kid fit well in the back of these cars.. could be easier getting them in and out.. but it's worth the occasional back pain

An infant needs a rear facing seat.. which does not fit well behind the driver's seat. You basically have to drive with your seat vertical.. put the rear facing infant seat on the passenger side.. and when you have another kid.. you move the older kid with the forward facing seat behind you.

You get a big smile when you kid begins to like the sound of your car.. and they give you yet another excuse to rev it up occasionally. [:-]

I have an 06 convertible (bought new) and at the time 2 boys ages 2&3, now 4&5 and there is no problem with putting the kids in the back seat. When they first were in the car car seats, now booster seats and there is no problems. I would say differently if your kids were over 10+ years, there wouldnt be enough legroom. The downside with the convertible is lack of trunk space, not easy shoehorning a double stroller into the trunk along with all the other crap you need when you take the kids somewhere (but it can be done, its like playing Tetris).
Fear not you dont need a minivan.

Well, glad to hear we don't need the minivan... especially since they don't make a convertible minivan.

Thanks, but by the time I have kids that age, which will be awhile, I'm sure we'll have picked upa more leg friendly car.
