Default Mustang shifting Q

Alright so Im buying a mustang and I had a few questions!

Firstly, let me say Ill be going to a professional driving school (if I can find one in my area, Washington DC) to lear better ways to drive the car as they will let me drive the stang for a day or 2 with an instructor.

With that said, I just had a simple question: What's the best RPM to shift at?

I own a Minicooper Clubman and thats the only car I drive stick on. I can drive it smoothly but I drive like-

Up on gas into first.
Thru first, clutch + extra quick accel before bumping into gear.
Ect.

All I do is start the car into 1st at 2-3k rpm (no wheel spin) but after that, I CANT get enough power to spin the wheels shifting. I shift at the top of each gear (5-6k RPM). What's the best RMP to shift thru every gear?

Finally, what's the fastest way to star the car rolling? Without pooping the clutchh, do you still let it off slowly and have a slow start (almost like going smooth w/o lag on an auto?).
I just wonder because in my auto, if I, say, floor it into drive, the car accelerates very well, where in stick im stuck going into 1st gear slowly. There has to be another way because stangs drag race and there's a way to get that boost without pooping the clutch.

Anyway, thanks for your help,
Jake

Learning to drive a manual isnt something you learn from reading, sure theres tips but nothing better than getting out their and just doing it! All cars will feel diffrent, just learn your car.

I think one of the best ways to learn is in traffic - do or die haha.

But in all seriousness... the driving lessons and hours of practice will make you a better driver by allowing you to get familiar with every aspect of your car.

sound and feel are how I shift. the tach is nice, but I dont watch it to shift. my pickup has a shift light, that things about useless. I guess people put shift lights in their stangs too.

I know driving my stick gt in traffic jams is a major pita. but u have to take the bad with the good.
