Default Suspension difference between 18" and 17" wheels

Does anyone know exactly what the difference in the suspension is for a GT from the factory that came with 17" vs 18" wheels? Is it a problem to change to the 18" from the 17". Will there be a huge difference?

Is it just speing rates that are different or are the shocks different as well?

Thanks in advance.

I switch back and forth between 17s (racing rims) and 18s (daily rims) a couple times a month. The rim size makes little to no difference for performance...the tires, now thats a different story. Super sticky, low tread wear on the 17s = handling. Moderately sticky, 300 tread wear on the 18s save me money.

I'm pretty sure the factory builds slight suspension difference between 18 and 17" rims. Well, at least that's what the GT handling subforum thread said.

I've never heard that (not saying its wrong, I've just never read it anywhere). Who said it? Personally I find it hard to believe. Not only doesn't it make sense from a production stand point but look at the number of guys who swap between 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 inch rims without issues.
