I don't even waste my time arguing with people like that. With full bolt ons an s197 GT will have ~300-310 rwhp. Its not worth calling him out, just let him spout his mouth off so he makes himself look like a fool. He will eventually embarass himself if he goes to the track and lines up against someone who actually has 400+ rwhp.

I met a guy at a car show that has an '06 stang GT vert with a '4.9 making 400hp'...and he tried to tell me his car came from the factory with a shaker hood.
Besides the shaker hood he had no other visible mods. I just kept my mouth shut and smiled.

Mustang GT Manual = 267 RWHP
Exhaust = 5
Intake and dyno Tune = 20
OR pipe = 8
Headers = 20
Cams = 45
Heads = 20
Combining both Cams and Heads = 10
CMVC plates = 5
Light Weight Drive Shaft = 2 (friction of the air acts on the shaft constantly, and to counteract friction you have to turn the shaft so the lighter the shaft the less loss of HP because the easier it is to turn and counteract friction, at least that's how it works I think).
Underdrive pulley = 8
Cams and Heads provide AT LEAST 75RWHP for this number and if he doesn't have those, then he has to have a stroker it (see below).
So, thats 410RWHP. It's very doable with just bolt ons but the total cost is $5000 + Instalation, you could get a supercharger for that money and push the same RWHP but have a QUARTER of the instlation cost so there are people that go this route but I think it's a waste of money and just a claim to fame.
Anyway, this is how you get 410RWHP, but with that said I guarantee that this dork has at most 295 RWHP.
Final note: 5.0L Stroker Kit = 55 so 475 RWHP is the max ever possible, which would be interesting to actually see.

So how much do I have. Brenspeed Tune/C&L CAI, Steeda Underdrive pullys, Mac Axlebacks. Lucas Gas Treatment, 200 degrees outside, 400 degrees in carand 4:10 Ford Racing gears. I hear you actually lose horsepower with gears.

the driveshaft is lighter, and therfore has less rotational mass, which means less energy is required to turn the driveshaft or change its rotational speed. this translates into less parasitic loss resulting from a heavy driveshaft. air friction has nothing to do with it
and i hope you're including tour "75 rwhp" cam figure in you calculations, enven though its probably more like 75 crank hp

Im getting suspicious of wat he has cause he told my friend he was getting 475rwhp so i think he is full of crap. How could he gain over 120 to the crank with boltons and a tune? i know its fast but idnt kno about tht fast.
