Hey all! Its been awhile since my last post but i've been lurking in the shadows bc I love this forum. I recently installed a steeda cai with proflow and had my guy at CarFx put an 87 and 91 octane tune on there bc the sct tune wasnt to impressive. My question is,is the pop and crackle noise coming from my exhaust (especially when motor is cold) just backpressure or is the engineback firing? It happens mostly when the engine is cold orfrom a 1 to 2 shift.If so im thinkingI need to lessen the richness of gas to O2 mixture on the tuner, but I have no idea by how much to do so (i think its by percentage?). I know we have some true gearheads on here so any help would be great. I plan on asking my tuner guy but I wouldnt mind doingit myself if possilbe...

I have the same popping and crackling...I think it is in the tune since mine started after a delete plate install and retune.

mine burbles a little on decel but other than that no pops or crackles

Mine only does it on a cold engine... and usually for just the first few minutes.

Mine did it stock as well as when I added the Corsas...

I didn't notice it until I installed my intake and tune, and then more so when i added boom tubes

Mine pops and crackles occasionally when I first start driving the car. Only started doing this after I added the axle back. Once the car warms up it never does it.

Going for broke

I'd say you have a slight exhaust leak. especially you guys with the aftermarket exhaust. it probaly doesn't leak bad but once it warms up is seals up.

I'd have to doubt that judging by how many videos I've seen on youtube, especially of SLP LMs, where they popped and crackled. I think I read somewhere on here it's a pretty common occurrence.

Mine did it when I had SLPs but not with the Boom Tubes.

Mine popped a lot until I got the accel coils, it just gurgles now when I downshift. I still get an occasional pop or crackle when I shift, but not always. It's most noticeable on the 1-2 shift.

You can hear the pop at 1:06. It would probably do it if I just let off the throttle quickly and didn't shift.
