I've read twice now that the crimson red interior upgrade has been dropped from the '06 lineup because it wasn't popular. It is also not shown on the Ford options list for 2006:

So it seems the reports are credible. I was really surprised at this as the red interior is what really sold me on getting an '05. Maybe it's one of those deals that people either love or hate. I'm glad I didn't stall on getting mine now, I was thinking of waiting 6 months or a year to see if the prices would come down.

So is anyone else going to miss that option?

I too went for the Red upgrade. I had a 94 Vette with the Red/Black interior and I LOVED it.

I am even happier to see Ford drop it as that will increase the value of our cars with the Red interior by makeing them "rare".

LOL! I have to admit I thought the same thing- BWAAHAAHAAA!!!! But I feel sorry for those other souls that don't get to share our joy until we sell our cars

Before I bought my mustang I went to MANY dealers, one of them tried so hard to sell me on a white GT with black and red interior, I personally didn't like the combo, if it was a black exterior, maybe...anyhow, one of the dealers points, according to him, was that they made a limited amout of black/red combos...only like 5000 or something (I could be wrong) and according to him, they are a very hot item, he said a people from all over the country are trying to get their hands on them.

I have torch red with the black & red interior, and I love it. Everyone that sees it seems to be fond of it. The dealer claims that mine is the only one around like it ( doubting that! )

Now the white with black & red interior, that just doesn't sound all that good. If it were a complete red interior, THAT would be hot!

Ugh. Comparing the options on the 2006 vs. the 2005, the red interior indeed looks like it won't be available. Here's links to both:

Looks like they are adding TPMS (Tire pressure monitoring) to the 2006. Rumors had it that the limited slip rear axle standard on the 2005 would be an option on the 2006. No mention of it here. hmmmm.

It is definitely rare. Mine had a snafu with the options. The dealer searched the dealer database to try to replace it and couldn't find one anywhere in the country. Nice to see it'll be rare for a long time.

adding TPMS?? that would be cool.. I hope I can get that too.. I'm too lazy to get out the car unless I know somethings wrong. As for the "rare" red interior part.. split window pintos were rare.. but dont see people going out to get thoughs
