4.10 + stock pirellis = ???

RE: 4.10 + stock pirellis = ???
With stock tires and 4.10s I couldnt hook from a 1st gear roll or dig. Usually when I hit 2nd I would still start going sideways. Now I have Eagle F1s 295 out back and I still cant launch very good. But I will say if you want to launch you are going to have to feather the **** out of it.

Are you talking about racing or daily driving?
ORIGINAL: ponyman
So I was originally planning on waiting until after I get wheels and tires to get 4.10s. But after this string forced me to get new tires early and I ended up having to get another set of the stock 235/55-17 Pirellis I am rethinking waiting. Since I will probably wait a little longer to get wheels and tires so I'm not abandoning brand new tires I was thinking of going to 4.10 earlier.
So how much traction trouble going to have to deal with if I put 4.10s on the stock 235 Pirellis? Anyone running 4.10s with the stock tires? Am I going to be able to get any traction from a stop? Or will I be having to work much much harder at that?

It requires more clutch pedal finesse that most people possess. At first I would just smoke the stock tires when trying to launch. Now I just feather the clutch at 2500 rpm, wait for traction, then go WOT. Sometimes the shift into 2nd can ellicit some sideways fun, and it generally a sign to decrease rear tire pressure. I like 30 front, 28 rear (cold).
