When should change Brake Pads/Tires
At what MM should we have our brake pads changed.
I recently had my tires rotated and they showed 9mm rear 7mm front.
It that good for having almost 29K miles??
Also tires were 6/32 front and 8/32 rear??
Does that mean I didn't burn enough rubber yet ... [sm=gears.gif]???

RE: When should change Brake Pads/Tires
Maximum wear before replacement:
Replace the tires when they get to the wear bar indicators. Replace the brake pads when the audible indicators squeal when brakes are applied.
It's probably best to replace these items justbefore they get to that stage.
Driving habits will dictate. I can usually get 70 to 90K out of my brakes and about 60K from my tires.

To go by the wear indicator is not always a good idea. Not all pads have them on the inboard pad, and if that one wears faster for some reason the next thing youll be hearing is the grinding of the rotors.
