That car is so much fun on the track...click on the links
(She ran so much better since I lowered it on Ford racing springs)

How did you get on with the stock brakes? (come on, be honest now )

Stock Brakes=TERRIBLE...that's as honest as I can be. HA HA

They got very mushy....in fact on my last session on Sunday afternoon they "black" flagged me because the fronts were smoking so bad coming out of the turns they thought something was wrong.
In my opinion...the biggest weakness I have on the car are the stock brakes. Time for an upgrade.

By the way, who has a good link for some brake upgrades on our Mustangs?

AmericanMuscle.com has some that I was just looking at, but I don't think that they will fit with my Nitrous wheels.

I'm guessing you had the stock pads in?

For most people a set of track only pads, hi-temp fluid and SS lines are all that are needed, maybe a set of cooling ducts. The diff from stock is amazing. There are several of us running this setup on track days without fade. Now I seem to remember you are an instructor or at least very experienced? Maybe you are one of the few on this forum who could actually need more than that, stop-tech and Wilwood both have well respected setups for this car.

What pads do you run on the street? I`d like more initial "bite" to the brakes and a firmer pedal. I understand that SS lines help in this regard but also assume that pad choice is important. T.I.A.

On my 07 the switch to stainless lines made very little difference in pedal feel on the street. On a new car, under day to day driving, the stock lines are fine. Its only when the stock lines get old and pliable or get very hot, like on a road track, that the SS lines come into play. I'm still wearing out the stock pads on the street. I will eventually switch to the Hawk HPS for street use. They supposedly have better initial bite and work quite well at cold temps.

Argonaut-thanks for the tips. I had debated, just days before our DE, about getting SS lines and hawk pads...just didn't have time.
I'm an old track junky from way back. I've really enjoyed the Mustang but she's a heavy beast that isn't as balanced as the BMW on the track.
I think that's why I've enjoyed it so much...the unpredictabilty...ha ha
Heavy nose and a light rear...check out this example...I think that rear tire is just about to lift?
