Default Engine Bay Hood Light?

May sound likea silly question but here it goes. My 2008 GT Premium does not have a light under the hood in the engine bay. Does anyone with a 2005 - 2008 have one?

If so did it come that way?

nope...just another cutback by ford to keep the price lower[>:]

just go to autozone and buy you a hanger light...works better and allows you to keep both hands unoccupied while working under the hood

Yeah they don't come with the cars and like mac said just buy a hanging light. You get more shine out of those anyways, but if you want one for style I bought a blue light and just hooked it up to the battery (looks good for showing off)

^ There`s a plunger switch mounted under the hood on the passenger side, what does it do?
The "system check" monitors the doors and trunk being closed, but not the hood.
You could wire this existingswitch to an underhood light.

Its for the factory alarm system if your car is so equipt.

Who needs a light under the hood? That adds weight! lol

No, you cant wire that switch to turn on a light.
It would interfer with the OEM anti-theft system.

I bought a hood light from an older mustang at a junk yard but had second thoughts about installing it. I leave the hood open for many hours during car shows and I was afraid it would drain the battery.
