It's an 8.8" ring gear diameter and very very similar in design to the old Chevy 12 bolt rear end (8.75") and I've seen those hold up with slicks and 500+ hp big blocks running well into low elevens. I have no reason to believe the Ford 8.8 won't do the same.

Probably the weakest part is the factory limited slip unit. There are several choices available to upgrade it.

All I have to say goes in line with what these guys already said.
My drivetrain guy said the 8.8 in the Fords would handle tons of power and that Ford has been doing the rear end right for years and years
