Problem removing fuel filter cover
Hi,
I was having a problem removing the plastic sheath that covers the fuel filter and fuel lines. I was going to put a new fuel filter in. I was able to remove 3 10 mm bolts, 2 near outside of car, 1 near middle of sheath. But the push pins seemed to be holding the piece there. I didn't want to break anything by forcing it off, so I thought I would post here.
I have read the guide posted here https://mustangforums.com/m_3713378/tm.htm
No one else seemed to have a problem. Any help would be appreciated. 05 gt vert if it makes any difference.

RE: Problem removing fuel filter cover
I just replaced mine yesterday. Just pull down on the plastic cover, the push pins will let go & stay in place on the frame.
Just be aware the plastic cover also has some tabs that you have to slide out as well.
I ended up just pulling the cover down enough where I could unbolt the clamp holding the filter in place, releasing the line clips & replaced the filter.
Depressurize the fuel system by pulling out the fuel pump relay in the fuse box, & crank the engine.

i pulled down on the cover to move the tabs then pulled on the tabs. i didnt get the fuel out of the lines first, luckfully i had thrown down a pile of kitty litter to catch the fuel that was going to spill.. i was suprised how much was in there. sorry i took so long to respond i was just changing my hood.
