I must be wierd because I'm the only guy I know that doesn't mind the front plate. Now if it wasn't mandatory in California, I'd dump it in a second but I don't have a problem with it on.

i'm in ny and have the plate in the front. pretty much mandatory on an army post... and they check that **** too
