Default Vert or Coupe ?!?!

my wife and i cant decide on a convertible or a coupe...

whats the stock weight on a vert vs the coupe?
any 1/4 mile or handling difference?

i like the cover that cervini makes for the stalker kit... can it be used with a stock stang?

never owned a convertible so im kinda leaning towards it but idk [8D]

My first convertible, and I like it. The vert is heavier, but I don't know the exact numbers.

Also my first convertable, and I love it.
I actually like the profile of the vert better than the coupe, so look real good at both to see which you like.
If you get one and arefair skinned, keep a hat and or sunblock in the car, I like to keep my Mustang club of Alaska hat on the shifter.
And yes a little heavier, and a little slower in the 1/4, but not much, I also don't have exact numbers.
I would also say get the cloth, as looks so sweet.

yeah i think the vert is heavier so time will be lower?

i have a 2007 gt vert and IMHO the coupe is better looking; in fact, if wife didn't insist on vert i'd be driving a white gt coupe now (they look sweet modded-up)... anyway... the vert is... well... a vert. ya know? wind in your hair and all that? like most s197s, people still stare everywhere i go and those that don't stare are pretending not to or are walking dead.

fwiw the vert is really stable and the cabin is quiet top up or top down.

really sounds like you want a vert. go for it!

The convertible is very cool, love it. I faced this same question and agonized about it for a long time. Eventually I went with the coupe, feeling it to be slightly more practicle in Pennsylvania. In retrospect I made the right decision - I've gotten into doing HPDE events at road tracks and for this you have to have a coupe or a roll bar.

When I bought my Stang I wanted a Vert, We went to test drive and the wife and daughters didn't like their hair blowing around = Coup...... Can't complain. Instead of a used Vert I bought a new Coup....

vert's are about 150lbs heavier. if you plan on modding it and draging it.. go with the coupe IMO. if you mod the vert at all you'll be below 13.49 and will require a roll bar by NHRA rules and you'll have trouble at a lot of tracks if u want to race.

I love the vert !!! just go back from a cruise this am... nothing like the open air ride @ 120 MPH!

All I can say is with 200lbs of me in it, it's about 4000lbs. Nothing like a convertible though.
