I will need to get my car inspected before the end of the month, and was starting to get a little nervous since I now have the SLP Loudmouth's (Axleback) installed.

Anyone that has this setup have a problem getting inspected?

Putting the stocks back on is not an option for me ... so I'm going to need to be able to pass w/out the mufflers.

I haven't had mine smogged yet, but I don't think there is an issue if you still have cats and the stock tune. My 01 tested lower than when I bought the car with the Hypertech tune put back to stock.

 

It depends were you are at. In Dallas they are real picky. And SLP might not pass. Here is the rule

Just go to a run-down inspection place and throw em a $20

 

Is a visual inspection part of the test in TX? I'm sure you could get by on an obd porttest.

 

U should have no problem..As they are noisy but do not control emissions..

There just Mufflers, well straight through muffs..have nothing to do with Emissions..You should be fine..

You can always put stock muffs back on for inspection then change them again..its a quick 30 Minute change..

 

Ok guys let's get the law for Texas straight first of all.
All of you who say this has nothing to do with emissions are correct.

HOWEVER, in Texas... ALL of Texas the law is that you MUST have mufflers.

But, I have heard you can find shops that will pass the inspection. I have no clue how hard it is to do so
or if it is hard at all. By the way... when are you going to get it done?

I had SLP's installed and I am not too far away from you. But I had already got my inspection done
before I put them on. I would REALLY like to know how hard it was for you to get inspected.
AND when you do, PLEEEEASE PM me with the name and addy of the place you got it done.

and even though I'm 2 hours from you it is worth the drive if you absolutely need it.

Had mine inspected with SLP with my bassani X-pipe and passed.

 

my friend had a mach1 with slps and no cats and he passed, he just pulled up really slowly and shut off his car, they only check the computer and the gas cap, they dont put nething up 2 ur exhaust, not in IL neways
