Default FRPP exhaust kits are confusing me

There seem to be 3 different FRPP axleback kits for the 05+ Mustangs, but not clear. Maybe someone can clarify?

5230-5gt - Stinger type

5230-Sgt - also Stinger type, they look the same to me - not in the catalog

5230-GTA - normal oval shape muffler.

I assume the stingers are louder?

Does the FRPP X pipe replace the cats, or not? They do not say in the catalog, so I don't want to go buying the FRPP x pipe and not get any extra noise for the money.

i know the smaller bullit looking ones are 49 state legal. i can only assume those are the loudest and i *think* are the borla/stinger, also the most expensive. next time your at a ford dealer, grab the 2008 mustang acceseries catalog and it has all of them in there towards the back and explains what each one is

The frpp would mount after the cats, making it emission legal. Look online for pics. The stingers compared to the regular type muffler are easy to tell. The gta's would be the quiet choice of the above.

I have the 5230-5GT which are also known as the FRPP Stingers with the bullet-style muffler. The 5230-GTA's are quieter than the stingers but a tad louder than stockand look like the stock mufflers with the exception of the tips. I have NO idea what the 5230-Sgt is besides possibly being a missprint.

GTA's : Shelby GTH, Shelby GT's Also part of the FRPP Power and Drag Packs. Little louder than stock, not by much, no resonance (drone) in the car. ( Supposedly made by the company IMCO, that makes Cherry Bombs)

5GT's: aka Borla Stingers. Alot louder than stock, tons of resonance!

FRPP X pipe, does NOT replace the cats in anyway, it has to be clamped in place, exactly where the stock H is cut out. Thats it. It gives 5 HP at WOT , and questionably alters the sound, if at all.
