Default SCT XCAL2 question???

O.K I am about to buy an XCAL2 used and unlocked tommorow for $200. The guy bought it with a tunable inductions CAI as a combo. My question is if I will be able to use the current tunes on my 05 GT manual with out a CAI? His car was an 06 GT manual.
Thanks.

You want to put his tune for a CAI on your car, which doesn't have a CAI??

yeah. i plan to get a CAI. I am buying the xcal2 tommorow because it is a deal for $200 even if I have to buy a custom tune later. I was just wondering would I be able to load a tune for a stock GT with CAI. After I purchase the tuner.

Xcal's are VIN locked, if I remember correctly. So I don't think you will be able to.

Yes and no. You will be able to use it if he reset his car to stock, that unlocks the VIN lock. However, they use the calibration code on your car to make the tunes. Your car won't be able to use the same tunes as his car, even though they are very similar cars. You will need to buy a new tune for your car.
