Mine isn't striped either. It sticks out better when it's not striped... To me, the scoop just blends into the stripes when it is striped.

The proper way is to actually REMOVE the hood scoop, lay the stripes down, then install the scoop again. Both ways look good in my opinion. I just prefer the way it kind of gives it a pattern when the scoop isn't striped. Very nice looking cars here btw.

P.S: For those who are wondering, my stripes are 2 inches apart.

Yeah, mine was removed, then they striped the entire hood and then striped the scoop separately before putting it back on.

I really do dig the torch red with white stripes combo. Anytime I see a solid torch red coupe it just looks naked without them. I'm not so big on the black ones, though, unless it's a single hood stripe with a rear blackout panel.
