LT's or Cams

LT's or Cams
Pulled the trigger this week on the electric water pump and 3.73's. Long story short I've been doing a bit better than expected financially lately so moving right along to the next phase....the question is do I go with cams (thinking about the FRPP hot rod cams) or go with a full exhaust including long tube headers and off road x pipe. Eventually I'll hope to do both, but for now I can afford one or the other.
Opinions?!

RE: LT's or Cams
Might as well go for the LTs. I am in the same boat and think I'll do the LTs first. I want to give the cams some time to enter the market and get all the kinks worked out such as tuning. I also heard there is a long wait on the FRPP cams anyway.

RE: LT'
without a good flowing exhaust your cams will not perform as well.....its all about airflow, the exhaust opens the airflow up and the then the cams perform much better......cams are one of the last mods i would do.....CMCV would be something to do first also so you get better airflow....there is not enough data out there but lets say you do cams now, you might only get 10-15 HP from them, if you do CMCV platers and exhuast first ou might double those numbers. Those are high estimates but you get the idea.....

RE: LT'
Everyone here has given decent info! Cams wont make alot of power without deleting the charge motion plates, headers, and other breathing mods. But then again LT's wont make a hell of alot without all the above either. Most people use there but dyno and ears to gauge power and since the LT's make more noise people thinks they are halling *****! LOL With that said, Its really your pick. They are all good mods and alone will net you close to the same power. Just choose wisely with future mods in mind. I.E. if F/I is in your future then choose the cam accordingly or if you are thinking turbo then forget the LT's.
I say for around the same cash that cams will cost installed and tuned, why not try some N02? A 100hp shot of the giggle juice goes a long way and will only compliment any other mod in your future!
Bye the way....... Why did you go with an electric water pump? Those are usually reserved for hard core track cars as they draw a bit of battery power and tax the alternator. You would not want to run a big radio with that either. They also have a waaaaay shorter life span than a oem pump!
