RE: Is it worth it to change CAIs???
well i had the k and n with a brenspeed tune and then i changed to the bbk and new tune and boy i felt a difference and my idle is lower and runs smoother and i gained more miles per gallon and felt more power. i have not put her on the dyno but im soon so as of now its set of the pants . so i was in the same boat as you did the change and im very happy

For a basically stock car the K&N is plenty.
I would not replace it unless you add longtube headers and cmdp.
At that point a larger CAI might start to be an advantage.
Justin at VMP had a car in with nothing but K&N CAI, UD Pulleys, and Axle-Backs.
With his tune it got 303 rwhp / 313 rwt. He was shocked at how well it worked.
The tune is primarily going to gain extended rpms and the elimination of the throttle rate limiting.
This is going to make the car much more responsive and allow optimum shiftpoints.
Also some power if its tuned for higher octane fuel.
The K&N has already leaned down the AFR so you dont get much peak power gain with a 87 tune.
In my opinion you get more from the tune in ET than the intake. Maybe 0.15 from the intake and 0.25 from the tune.
Not having to deal with the delay in throttle opening after each shift is a major improvement.
